About Mary Ann

Hello and Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by. We hope you love to travel as much as we do!

We haven’t always been able to  travel. I am in my 60’s and worked for most of my adult life. A few years ago, my husband and I decided we should travel. After all, we weren’t getting any younger.

Who I Am

It’s Mary Ann here (and yes I prefer to be called that and NOT Mary – just wanted us to get us off on the right foot here!). 🙂Mary Ann

I have a wonderful family – a funny and interesting husband, two fantastic kids and grandkids, and although it is difficult being away from them, my husband and I chose to live life the way we wanted to and for us, that meant travelling.

Up until a few years ago, I never went anywhere. So far, we have been to the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia 6 times, Jamaica, Dominican twice and Costa Rica three times. Mexico is on the horizon for our next planned trip.

If you have a passion you can combine with travelling, bonus! I like to paint and this is one of the scenes from Costa Rica that has become my husband’s favourite. I call it the Old Bridge. I also own an online business; again this is something you can easily continue while checking out the rest of the world.

You might be telling yourself that you can’t afford to travel; we certainly did. However, travelling doesn’t have to be to expensive, exotic, far away places. You can start in your own province or state, get your feet wet and find out if travelling really is for you.

Let’s Begin

Here we will talk about a lot of stuff pertaining to travel – everything from using a house sitting service such as  TrustedHousesitters as a way to finance your travels, to what and how to pack!

Come on in and join us! We welcome you.

I love to travel and my biggest regret is that I waited so long to do it, thinking I just couldn’t afford it. I have had some crazy fun, some scary moments, such as getting locked in a shower at a campsite, and met some amazing people. For our trip to Mexico we were able to save money by house sitting, which was something completely new to us. If this is something that interests you, then check out TrustedHousesitters. We hope you visit often.
